Maranatha Takes First State Champ For XRC

The Maranatha Academy Eagles became the first XRC school to take a state title on Saturday with a convincing first place finish in the KSHSAA 2A Girl's Cross Country State Finals.  They finished with a score of 59, the next closest was Ellinwood with 95 points.

The top three finishers for Maranatha were all freshman.  Lauren Harrell, the freshman phenom who took the was the individual champion for the XRC Conference this year, took 2nd in the state running her 4k in 15:45.46, which was only 5 seconds behind Junior Jenna Farris of Lincoln.  Hope Manning and Talyor Morrow also finished well at 13th and 15th respectively.
